2010 Show : Steam engine section
Belvoir Castle Steam Festival & Family Show 22nd & 23rd May 2010.
The steam engines are again in 2010 an important part of the show and there is always a good cross section to cover all types, including the odd curio such as the Salveson steam cart or a steam powered buggy. Engines are also put to work on saw benches and other implements in a dedicated working area.
Outside the Victorian fairground will be in full swing and showman’s engines will line up outside to give that special atmosphere, supported by traditional organ music.
A large model tent, bygones and collections section, plus many stationary engines complete the line up, whilst around the site visitors will find small pockets of entertainment, including a miniature railway, heavy horses, rare breeds and kiddies quad bike rides.
