Belvoir Castle Steam Festival & Family Show 2008 was on the 17th & 18th May 2008.

British Army re-enactment22 April 2008

We have had a possibility of a yet another brilliant new entry for this year - a big display depicting the British Army on Exercise in BAOR in the 1980's, Field kitchen, REME workshop, vehicles, tents etc, Also the worlds only DD Valentine tank is coming again!

• just confirmed: FH70 155mm howitzer, this is a huge howitzer that can fire a shell over a distance of about 15 miles!

• Also confirmed: the assault course

• 508th US airborne Infantry WW2 Living History Group
• 2nd Guards Russian WW2 Living History Group (who will be doing an arena display)

• Crusader 80 BAOR living History group of the 1980s


Military displays

Plus the Mighty Antar and as of today the huge Leyland Martian Gun tractor, also our star - the worlds only Valentine Swimming tank.
PLUS: Neil Watling with three 'tanks' this year - which will be giving tank rides to the public.

Events and re-enactments

The Russian 2nd Guards re-enactors are bringing a record number of people this year, and WILL be doing an arena display.
The arena demo will feature last years training display, but also an intersection Maxim gun obstacle race, where they will be timed dismantling a Maxim machine gun (heavy kit) and taking it over the obstacles and reassembling, a bit like the scaled down naval gun race!

• Off road area,
• Tank rides
• Re-enactors including a new group this year, the Tommy Atkins Group doing BRITISH, yes British soldiers!!
...............and of course the assault course!
